How it’s built. The share of a comune's locations where fibre to the home (FTTH) is available, from AGCOM's Broadband Map of the fixed network, edition Q3 2026 (network data as of 5 October 2026). AGCOM maps the fixed network on a grid of 20 m by 20 m cells, and a cell exists only where the network reaches a building; each cell records the best technology available there. This layer counts the cells whose best technology is FTTH and divides by all of the comune's cells. It is a share of LOCATIONS, not of households or people: an apartment block and a farmhouse each count once. A building with no fixed line at all (served only by fixed wireless, mobile or satellite) has no cell and is left out of both counts. 'Available' means the network reaches the location, not that anyone there subscribes. Cells on a comune's border are counted in both comuni. Higher is better.
