About
The founding story and "how we work" sections below are still placeholder — everything else is real. Replace the bracketed section by editing this file directly; no component changes needed.
Why we do this
Expat Living Italy exists because most advice about moving to Italy is a listicle, not a data set. [PLACEHOLDER: the real founding story — what prompted this, why data-first, what's broken about the usual advice.]
Caitlin
Caitlin is American, born in Vietnam and raised in New Jersey. Since studying at Berkeley, she has lived in Vietnam, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Miami, Seattle, and Singapore. She speaks Italian, French, Spanish, Dutch and Vietnamese, and has always been drawn to new places, languages and ways of life. She enjoys writing on Expat Living Italia, inspired by a long-standing love of Italy and the idea of making a life there. Caitlin writes here and posts as @expatcat.it — she likes cats, and it was too close to her own name to pass up.
Eugenio
Eugenio is Italian and has lived and worked across Asia, Europe and the Americas. After many years abroad, returning to Italy is no longer a question of if, but when and where he will one day settle in Italy. This is his own odyssey.
How we work
[PLACEHOLDER: methodology philosophy — sourcing standards, what "well-researched, data-derived" means in practice, how errors get corrected.]
