How it’s built. Beds in hotels and similar establishments (all star ratings plus residenze turistico alberghiere) as a share of the comune's total registered tourist-accommodation bed capacity, 2024. 0 means every registered bed is non-hotel (campsites, holiday rentals, agritourism, hostels, B&Bs, mountain huts, other); 1 means the comune's entire registered capacity is hotel beds. Answers 'what kind of tourist accommodation exists here', a different question from the total-capacity and beds-per-resident layers' 'how much'. Undefined (excluded, not zeroed) for a comune with zero total beds - there is no capacity to take a share of. One category of the non-hotel residual, 'alloggi in affitto' (holiday rentals), changes definition from 2025 onward to include informal private rentals for the first time (confirmed live in the source file's own footnote) - this metric's 2024 reference year predates that change, so it does not need to account for it, but a future re-run at a later reference year would need to treat 2024-and-earlier and 2025-and-later as two different definitions of 'non-hotel', not one continuous series.
