How it’s built. Share of population living in a household where total housing costs exceed 40% of disposable income, per NUTS 2 region (roughly region-equivalent), Eurostat's own ilc_lvho07_r dataset (2022) — found by searching Eurostat's own dataset catalogue for "housing cost overburden", not by guessing at ilc_lvho07* code variants (several guesses 404'd). This dataset's own series only starts in 2021; 2021 and 2022 have identical coverage, so the newer of the two was used at no coverage cost. Boundaries: github.com/eurostat/Nuts2json, 2021 typology.
